"Stone Castle Villa" in Athens - Schinias - Marathon,

An excellent place, full of character, to enjoy your vacations in Greece, and have a big variety of options.


  • It is located in a place looking like a far Aegean island, feeling like you are away from it all. You can't believe this place is only 50 km/ 31 mi from down town Athens!
  • Acropolis, a World Class monument, its famous new museum, all major archaeological sites, the picturesque old Plaka and the modern city are at a little more than an hours reach, along with numerous cultural and recreational possibilities.
  • Schinias in Marathon, is a top rated beach of Athens, boasting more than 6 km/3.7 mi of sandy beach, with crystal clear and mostly calm waters, and a rare cone forest reaching to the water edge!

The Villa itself is built with stones from its own land, in an inspired 'castle like' design according to Greek traditional architecture.
The intended abundant use of natural and low treated materials, like stone, wood and iron, create a feeling of immediacy, comfort and inner relaxation in a way that  few places can do.
It is tastefully decorated in a country but luxurious manner, with antiques, hand crafted wooden and iron furniture, that invite you to unwind in casualness comfort and style.
The house is built in the gated settlement of Judges & Attorneys.
It is positioned on the cliffs, 50 meters/ 55 yards above the sea, providing privacy, and great views to the picturesque bay underneath and the Aegean sea.

Schinias, belongs to the municipality of Marathon, where the famous ancient battle took place and where the world renowned Marathon run originates.

Ramnous, is another archaeologically imporatnt site of the area, only a couple of hills away from the Villa.

The National Park of Schinias, adjacent to the Villa's settlement, belongs to the NATURA 2000 network   for its environmental importance.
It is a paradise for bird watchers with more than 223 species of birds and 6 observatories to enjoy them.

In the same area is built the Olympic Rowing and Canoeing centre, the venue for the Olympic Games of 2004  for these sports.

Along the 6 km/3.7 mi sandy beach of Schinias, only 1,5 km/0.93 mi form the Villa, everyone can find what he likes:


  • your own tree in front of the beach to lay under its shadow and enjoy the sea
  • more busy and organised areas to enjoy being with other people
  • shallow, calm, and clear  waters for children to play 
  • very basic tavernas taking your mind many decades back, or others more organised to fit your taste
  • some of he most modern and famous beach clubs of Greece, with great decoration and facilities to enjoy all water sports, active socializing, events, happenings etc.
  • or you can dive off the cliffs to the emerald waters, a short walk from the house, as many people prefer to do


Marathon and other smaller villages near by, are ideal for spending a quiet evening at a local taverna, off the beaten track.

Nea Makri 16,5 km/ 10 mi far, is a big city of more than 20.000 people, and is getting very busy at the summer as many Athenians have their summer houses there and around.
It offers many shops, banks, restaurants, bars, tavernas, sea front promenade and numerous entertainment possibilities.

The plains of Marathon, is a vegetable growing area and is supplying a big part of Athens needs.
The streets around are full of benches in front of the fields, selling their freshly cut produce tempting you apettite!




And if you want to go a bit further...



Corinth, Argolis, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Nafplion, with their vast wealth of archaeological and historical monuments, are all on the same direction and can easily be reached on a day trip from the Villa, at a distance of around 170 km/ 105 mi.

The Delphi archaeological site with the famous ancient Oracle, the navel of the earth as the ancients believed, is 180 km/ 112 mi far, also within the reach of a day trip.

Another well worth option, is to take a Daily cruise departing from Athens port of Piraeus, visiting  3 Saronic islands, the historical Hydra, the picruesque Poros, and the cultural Aegina, that will give you a memorable island feeling.
